About 33CLEANFEED

A founder-led deep-tech initiative.

33CLEANFEED brings plant biology, industrial engineering and measurable product quality together. The ambition: controlled biological production as a repeatable system — with standard interfaces, crop-specific recipes, traceability and an honest measurement of cost and quality.

Our story

From a practical challenge to a system approach.

33CLEANFEED grew out of an entrepreneurial, systems-oriented look at a practical challenge: how do you make biological production not only possible, but better controllable, measurable and usable for the market?

Founder Bryan Damhuis combines commercial experience in B2B, e-commerce, trading and entrepreneurship with founder-led development work on the technical and biological architecture of 33CLEANFEED.

The focus is on connecting disciplines that are usually looked at separately: crop recipes, water and nutrients, air and climate, biosecurity, sensors and automation, quality control, batch data and the real cost of released product. Where hypotheses go beyond existing data, we want to test them with farmers, engineers, laboratories, agronomists and knowledge partners.

The ambition is big, but the route is evidence-led: design, pilot, measure, validate — and only then scale.

VISION

Production that is measured, controlled and traceable

A production environment in which biological output is not only grown, but systematically measured, steered, controlled and made traceable per batch.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

M01–M09

The conceptual modular architecture integrating cultivation, water, air and climate, biosecurity, automation, QA, data and economics.

What we value

Six principles behind every decision.

Technical sobriety

First specify and measure, then conclude.

Biological precision

Recipes and success criteria differ per crop and growth phase.

Transparency

Facts, assumptions, hypotheses and targets are never mixed.

Modularity

Scale through standardised modules and interfaces, not endless custom factories.

Quality discipline

No product release without a QA decision and a suitable specification.

Customer value

Technology only counts commercially when a demonstrable outcome helps the customer.

Where we stand

Worked out, in design, needs partners, must be proven.

Worked out

  • Modular system architecture M01–M09 with interfaces
  • Development and validation plan with stage gates
  • KPI and mass-balance method (released saleable dry matter)
  • Evidence and claims discipline

In design / internal R&D

  • Design of the instrumented pilot cell
  • Crop recipes for grass fodder and alfalfa
  • Mineral profile, DCAD and composition hypotheses
  • Seed-independence research line
  • Digital Batch Passport

Needs partners

  • Engineering and build of the pilot cell
  • Laboratory analyses and sampling methods
  • Agronomy and animal nutrition
  • A demonstration farm
  • Independent validation

Must be proven first

  • Reproducible released dry matter
  • A closed mass balance
  • Microbial and process control
  • Water and energy per kg released output
  • Customer value at a realistic price
