Frequently asked questions.

Short, clear answers about what 33CLEANFEED designs, where we stand and how to get involved.

About 33CLEANFEED

The concept and the stage.

What is 33CLEANFEED?

A development initiative for a modular, controlled production approach for grass fodder and alfalfa, in which cultivation, water, climate, quality assurance and batch data are designed as one system.

Who is behind 33CLEANFEED?

33CLEANFEED is founder-led: Bryan Damhuis (founder) develops the vision, system architecture, product direction and research questions, together with co-founder Khayan Damhuis. For building, analysis and validation we work with specialist partners.

Has a production facility been built?

Not yet. We have worked out the system architecture and a development and validation plan; the first step is an instrumented pilot cell, which we are preparing and want to build with partners. Concept images on this site are labelled as such.

Which performance has been proven?

None that we present as proven yet. We are precise about status: design, internal R&D, to be validated or roadmap. Results will be published with method, date and scope.

What does M01–M09 mean?

Nine functional modules of the Core Unit: intake and lot control, seed preparation, germination, grow, water, air and climate, harvest, stabilisation and QA release. See Technology.

Why dry matter instead of fresh kilos?

Fresh mass contains mostly water. Dry matter, product quality, rejects and a closed mass balance give a fairer basis for judging yield and cost.

What is the Digital Batch Passport?

An intended digital batch record that traceably links input, recipe, process measurements, utilities, QA, the release decision and delivery.

Technology & safety

How the system is designed to work.

Is the production contamination-free?

No absolute guarantee is possible. The concept includes barriers, QA and traceability, but any claim has to be specific to a contaminant, method, sampling plan, detection limit and result.

Is AI responsible for safety?

No. Safety PLCs and hard interlocks take precedence. AI and model predictive control may optimise and support within validated limits, but can never override safety functions.

Is water harvesting from air (AWH) a standard part?

No. Atmospheric water harvesting is an option only where climate, yield, energy, maintenance and marginal cost support it.

Can 33CLEANFEED produce vegetables or microgreens?

That is a possible related roadmap under the working name 33CLEANFOOD. Human food needs a separate product route with its own food safety, QA, regulation, shelf life and economics.

Does it reduce methane emissions?

That is a research question, not a claim. Controllable feed quality could support research into lower methane intensity, but only a controlled feed trial with a suitable comparison can show an effect. See Impact.

Pilots & collaboration

Getting involved.

Can my company or farm take part in research?

Yes. You can register for an exploratory conversation. Whether a pilot or collaboration follows depends on scope, partner fit, the measurement plan and current capacity.

Can I already buy the product?

Not as a standard product. The development and validation phase is assessed per application. Contact us to discuss the current possibilities and conditions.

What does a pilot cost?

There is no standard price. Scope, location, measurements and roles differ per pilot, so we discuss this after an intake conversation.

Does it save water or money?

That cannot be promised in advance for every location and application. Water use, energy, labour, dry-matter yield and customer value have to be measured with the same system boundary as the current alternative.

Can I use it on my dairy farm under my quality scheme?

That has to be checked per situation, together with your feed adviser and the requirements of your dairy and quality scheme. We include it in the intake of any farm pilot.

How do I get in touch?

Through the contact form, by email at info@33cleanfeed.nl or via WhatsApp +31 6 3469 1789.
